WHY I CHANGED GENRES AND WROTE UTTER DARKNESS

Have you ever had that feeling you were supposed to do something, and if you didn't do it, you knew it would nag at you forevermore?

That's how I came to write UTTER DARKNESS. In this book, I share, from a Christian perspective, the spiritual war that believers face against an unseen enemy. In the Book of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul tells us that, "... we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."

In UTTER DARKNESS, our main character, Ryan Fletcher, is chosen by both God and the Darkness to fight on their behalf. Fletcher, thrust into a battle he never knew existed, faces losing everything he loves, forced to rely on something he had never needed before, his faith.  This book tells the story of how this war, waged since ancient times, becomes very real to Fletcher and those who rally to his side. In the end, he must make a choice. This choice changes everything for him.
